I read a hadith from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that the fasting person has a supplication that is not rejected. Is it in this world or in the Hereafter? And if the fasting person supplicates for anything, will it be answered?

The questioner : The questioner says: I read a hadith from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that the fasting person has a supplication that is not rejected. Is it in this world or in the Hereafter? And if the fasting person supplicates for anything, will it be answered?
The Shaykh : First, it is obligatory for us to know that if a person supplicates to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) with sincerity, humility, and the belief that He (Glorified and Exalted is He) is capable of answering the supplication, then Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) will not disappoint his supplication. Either He will answer what he asked for, or He will store it for him on the Day of Resurrection, or He will avert from him an evil that is greater. So the one who supplicates to Allah, meaning the one who calls upon Allah, will never be disappointed; rather, he will not be devoid of one of these three things. So let a person persist in supplication and be humble before Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) in everything, and let him ask his Lord for everything, even if it is a small thing, because Allah the Exalted is the Lord of all things and their Owner. And let him not be discouraged if he supplicates and it is not answered, but rather let him believe that he is a gainer in every case. And Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) may withhold from His servant what he asked for out of mercy for the servant, as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Baqarah 2:216]. Yes.
The questioner : May Allah reward you.

and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.
