If one forgets a verse while reciting in prayer, should he pass over it and continue, or should he stop the recitation?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A person practices this by repeating it as a matter of independent legal reasoning, meaning that often a person is reciting, for example, one of the large surahs, and according to his belief, he is certainly memorizing it, but when he reaches a verse in the surah, he simply cannot continue. He is facing, I mean, he is facing three options.
The Shaykh : Either he stops and consequently bows.
The Shaykh : Or he skips the verse he does not know, passes over it, and comes back to the same surah from the part he knows.
The Shaykh : And that if, in his belief, he has not recited much, he should move to another surah.
The Shaykh : So, the detail in these three cases, I mean, which one is better?

The Shaykh : The best of them are the second and the third.

The questioner : The second and the third, which are that he continues from the same one, passing over what he cannot.

The Shaykh : And he does not stop the recitation here, for he would lose this, due to his saying (peace and blessings be upon him)
I do not say that Alif Lam Mim is a letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter. لا أقول الم حرف ولكن ألف حرف ولامٌ حرف وميمٌ حرف

, so if it is easy for him to continue the recitation from the same surah, passing over the verse, then that is good.

The questioner : My master, and if he remembers it, if he remembers it after he has passed over it, and peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.

The Shaykh : He missed the group.
