Is the supplication of one who asks Allah by saying, "O Allah, I ask You by the right of Your Prophet whom You sent and by the right of Your Book which You revealed," considered valid?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A questioner asks: Is the supplication of one who asks Allah the Exalted by saying "O Allah, I ask You by the right of Your Prophet whom You sent and by the right of Your Book which You revealed" valid?

The Shaykh : This supplication is not valid. As for the right of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), what is meant? Is it the right of the Prophet over us, or the right of the Prophet over Allah, or what? We do not know; it is ambiguous.
And slave's right on Allah is that He should not punish him who worships none besides Him. حق العباد على الله أن لا يُعذّب من لا يشرك به شيئا
Sahih al-Bukhari 2856
And the right of the Prophet over us is to revere him, respect him, believe his reports, obey his commands, and avoid his prohibitions. None of this is valid to be used as a means for the servant's supplication. However, one may say, "O Allah, I ask You by the fact that I have believed in Your Messenger and followed him, that You forgive me," or something similar to that, like the saying of the believers:
Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.
[Ali 'Imran 3:193]
On this occasion, I would like my Muslim brothers in general to be diligent in the supplications found in the Qur'an and the Sunnah, for they are the best, they are comprehensive, and there is no doubt for a person in them. And there is no doubt that they are better than all the supplications that have been composed after them, which rely on rhyming and what stirs the soul to weeping and the like, and which lead to turning away from the prescribed supplications that came in the Book and the Sunnah. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh Muhammad.
