The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : Peace be upon you

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace

The questioner: HomeThe Shaykh : Nasir al-Albani.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner: Please, if you don't mind, can I speak with him?

The Shaykh : He is with you.

The questioner: Yes, how are you, Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah.

The questioner : May Allah reward you

The Shaykh : May Allah grant you well-being

The questioner: Your brother in Allah, Mansur Abdullah, is Egyptian. I received a fatwa in a message, and I wanted to ask you about it.

The Shaykh : Please go ahead.

The questioner: Regarding the Ruqyah of Jibril for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), a brother has been telling me he wants to inquire about the authenticity of this ruqyah. It is found in Zad al-Ma'ad, and he is asking whether it is permissible to make it a profession and take a fee for it, and what is the evidence for that?

The Shaykh: First, what is the Ruqyah of Jibril that you are referring to?

The questioner: The well-known ruqyah, which begins with the prescribed adhan and five or four verses from al-Baqarah, as well as from the end of al-Baqarah and verse 17 of al-Imran... and so on.

The Shaykh: We do not know this ruqyah. We do not know that Jibril taught it or that Jibril performed it for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). We do not know this.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh: Ruqyah should be performed with what is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The questioner : (Peace and blessings be upon him).

The Shaykh: And not with what is not established.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : But

The questioner: So regarding this matter, have you not read about this ruqyah? Is it possible? The Shaykh : Abu Bakr Jaber al-Jazairi spoke about it, or

The Shaykh : Did you read it?

The questioner: I have read about it, and I may have even treated people with it.

The Shaykh: I have treated people with it.

The questioner: Which is for jinn, possession by jinn, sorcery, and these kinds of things.

The Shaykh: Did Abu Bakr al-Jazairi authenticate it?

The questioner: Abu Bakr al-Jazairi authenticated it.

The Shaykh: What did he say, and where did he authenticate it?

The questioner: He said that this ruqyah is authentic. And recently, in a book—I don't remember the exact name—that was published, I think... in the book of Ahmad Ashur, I believe he has a book.

The Shaykh: Don't go far. Tell me the name of the book so we can see what you quoted from Abu Bakr regarding its authenticity, as you claim.

The questioner : Yes, yes.

The Shaykh: Or did he not mention it? What is the book?

The questioner: Do you mean Abu Bakr's book?

The Shaykh: So now, save yourself the trouble. Call me on another occasion and first tell me the text of his words to which you attributed the authentication, and second, the name of the book in which you say it is found.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh: This can be done on another occasion, if Allah wills.

The questioner: So, if Allah wills, we will call you again. There is no harm in that, right?

The Shaykh: There is no harm.

The questioner: Okay, may Allah reward you with all good.

The Shaykh : Welcome.

The questioner : Peace be upon you

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings.
