Taking a fee for recitation regarding the recitation of the Qur'an, especially those who recite at occasions, what is its ruling?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Taking a fee for recitation regarding the recitation of the Qur'an, especially those who recite the Qur'an at occasions?

The Shaykh : Taking a fee for reciting the Qur'an is forbidden, because reciting the Qur'an is only done as an act of devotion.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Any act that is only done as an act of devotion, taking a fee for it is forbidden. If the reciter takes a fee for this recitation, the fee is forbidden for him, and he receives no reward for this recitation. By this, we know the error of those people who hire someone to recite for their deceased in the days of his death. I say to them: Your work is a futile work, there is no benefit in it, but rather there is harm in it, because you have assisted this reciter in sin by taking a fee for his recitation. And because this money may have been taken from the deceased's estate, and there may be a bequest in it, and there may be minors among the heirs who are wronged by taking something from what they are entitled to from this estate.
Then, your deceased will not benefit from this recitation at all, because there is no reward with Allah for this recitation. And if there is no reward, where does the benefit for this deceased come from?
So, it is obligatory to stay away from this work, to warn against it, and to advise one another among Muslims in order to put an end to it and rid the Muslims of it.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. In the last question, the Yemeni listener says.
