The Thirteenth: Knowing the Blessing of Allah the Exalted and the Value of Security.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : He says that among the benefits, or among the wisdoms, of this calamity is that we came to know the value of the blessing of Allah the Exalted in security. Indeed, fears or expressions containing fear used to pass by us as if they were something cold, but when this calamity occurred, we knew fear and we knew the value of Allah’s blessing upon us in security. Otherwise, who would believe that some people left their countries out of fear of perishing in our lands? But through this, we came to know the value of the blessing of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He. And Allah has drawn attention to this in His saying:
Say, “Have you considered: if Allah made the night for you continuous until the Day of Resurrection, which god other than Allah could bring you light? Will you not hear? Say, “Have you considered: if Allah made the day for you continuous until the Day of Resurrection, which god other than Allah could bring you a night in which you rest? Will you not see?” And from His mercy He has made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and seek from His bounty, and perhaps you will be grateful. قل أرأيتم إن جعل الله عليكم الليل سرمداً إلى يوم القيامة من إله غير الله يأتيكم بضياء أفلا تسمعون، قل أرأيتم إن جعل الله عليكم النهار سرمداً إلى يوم القيامة من إله غير الله يأتيكم بليل تسكنون فيه أفلا تبصرون، ومن رحمته جعل لكم الليل والنهار لتسكنوا فيه ولتبتغوا من فضله ولعلكم تشكرون
We will not know the value of the blessing of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, upon us with this night and day that succeed one another upon us, unless it were decreed that all the time is day, or that all the time is night. Therefore, among the transmitted maxims is: “Things are made clear by their opposites”
