(Explanation of Shirk-based Love and the Difference Between Love for the Sake of Allah and Love Alongside Allah, and That the Necessity of Their Love for Allah Is Obedience to Him and Obedience to His Messengers) They made their love alongside the Most Merciful

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"They made their love alongside the Most Merciful".
This is the love of shirk (associating partners with Allah). As for love for the Most Merciful, it is a love of faith. That is why there is a distinction between love for the sake of Allah and love alongside Allah. Love alongside Allah is shirk. Love for the sake of Allah, or for Allah, is faith. It is part of the perfection of faith that you love a person not for any reason other than for the sake of Allah. So, he said:
"They made their love alongside the Most Merciful, *** They never made their love for the Most Merciful.
If their love were for the sake of Allah, *** they would not have opposed His beloved ones in faith"
.
Indeed, if they truly loved Allah, they would not have opposed the beloved of Allah; they would not have opposed the Messengers, nor would they have opposed the followers of the Messengers.
"And they did not love His anger and avoided *** His beloved and the places of divine pleasure"
This is also correct. A necessary consequence of their love for Allah is that they follow what pleases Him. As for following what makes Allah angry, if they do so, then even if they claim to love Him, they are liars in that claim.
