When is love considered shirk (associating partners with Allah)?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some people label certain sins as leading to shirk (associating partners with Allah), saying: "They love these actions more than they love Allah?"

Answer:
[Love of] worship. As for loving one's wife or wealth more than Allah, that is a sin. But the love that—meaning—entails the absence of love for Allah; that is major shirk (associating partners with Allah)—may Allah keep us safe from it. The foundation of love is necessary, but its perfection lies in the fact that love for Allah is more perfect than anything, and love for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is more perfect than anything. This is part of the perfection of the obligatory faith
Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith: 1. The one to whom Allah and His Apostle becomes dearer than anything else.ثلاث من كن فيه وجد بهن حلاوة الإيمان: أن يكون الله ورسوله أحب إليه مما سواهما
Sahih al-Bukhari 16
. This is the perfection of tawhid (the oneness of Allah).
Q: Does he prioritize his shaykh's words over the words of Allah and His Messenger because of his love for his shaykh?
A: This is a sin and blind following. And if he considers it permissible and believes that his shaykh's words take precedence over the words of Allah and His Messenger: that is major shirk (associating partners with Allah), if he considers it permissible. May Allah keep us safe from it.
