The Shaykh : We now begin the new lesson in the *Nuniyyah*. He (may Allah have mercy on him) says:
"A Chapter on the Origin of the Enmity That Exists Between the Affirmers, the Monotheists, and the Deniers, the Deprivers" The Affirmers are those who affirm the attributes, and the Deprivers are those who deny the attributes.
"O my people, do you know the enmity between us *** For what reason in the ancient times?"
This means: What is the cause of the enmity between the Affirmers and the Deprivers? Because every enmity must have a cause, and the causes are multiple. He (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned them in his saying:
"We have sided with the Qur'an and the authentic *** transmission that interprets the Qur'an,
And likewise with clear reason and the innate *** disposition of the Merciful before the alteration of man.
These are four interrelated things, some of *** which have verified others on the scale.
And by Allah, these have never gathered for you *** as you have affirmed with your tongue,
When you said that sound reason contradicts the *** transmitted from reports and from the Qur'an.
So we prioritize the rational, then we divert the *** transmitted by interpretation of various colors.
And if we are unable to do so, we discard it, not *** caring about it."
"We discard it" or "we cast it away"? With the qaf, it is not written as a copy that contradicts.
"We cast it away, not *** caring about it, intending to do good
And for you" to the end of it.
He says: These four things that we relied upon in our affirmation do not exist with you, and their explanation has already been given.
