And the fear, all the fear, is upon the one who *** leaves the texts for the sake of so-and-so's statement (Warning against leaving the texts for the sake of so-and-so's statement, even if it is Abu Bakr al-Siddiq)

The Shaykh :"And the fear, all the fear, is upon the one who *** leaves the texts for the sake of so-and-so's statement"
Yes, by Allah, this is the fear: that a person leaves the text, saying, "So-and-so said," when you say, "The Messenger of Allah said," and he says, "So-and-so said." If you said, "The Messenger of Allah said," and he said, "Abu Bakr said," is he to be feared or not? Is Abu Bakr to be feared? Glory be to Allah! Did not the Messenger say:
You must then follow my sunnah and that of the rightly-guided caliphs عليكم بسنتي وسنة الخلفاء
Sunan Abi Dawud 4607Sahih (Al-Albani)
He began with his Sunnah, he began with his Sunnah, my Sunnah, so it takes precedence over every Sunnah. For this reason, it is narrated from Ibn Abbas that he said:
Stones from the sky will almost descend upon you, just as they descended upon the people of Lot. I say, "The Messenger of Allah said," and you say, "Abu Bakr and Umar said" يوشك أن تنزل عليكم حجارة من السماء كما نزلت على قوم لوط أقول قال رسول الله وتقولون قال أبو بكر وعمر
This is it, and they are Abu Bakr and Umar, about whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Stick to the two after me, Abu Bakr and 'Umar. اقتدوا باللذين من بعدي أبي بكر وعمر
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3662Hasan (Darussalam)
And he said:
So if you had obeyed Abu Bakr and Umar, you would have gone on the right path إن يطيعوا أبا بكر وعمر يرشدوا
Sahih Muslim 681
And yet, if you opposed the statement of the Messenger with their statements, stones from the sky would almost descend upon you. All right.
He says:
"And the fear, all the fear, is upon the one who *** leaves the texts for the sake of so-and-so's statement".
