Explaining that the ruin of a person is due to ignorance and desire

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : How much people need today, how much people need today, beneficial knowledge and sound reasoning. Knowledge and reasoning: knowledge by which doubts are resolved, and reasoning that restrains a person from desires. For the affliction of a person comes from one of two things: either ignorance or desire, either this or that.
What is present is this... We return to the lesson of the iqamah, yes, we return to a simple word, meaning to complete. We said that a person is afflicted by one of two things: either ignorance or desire, not seeking the truth. Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
O Allah, show us the truth as truth اللهم أرنا الحق حقا
And by this, ignorance is removed.
and grant us the ability to follow it وارزقنا اتباعه
By this, desire is removed, and the intention of the person becomes the intention of Allah and His Messenger. We ask Allah to make us and you among those who saw the truth as truth and followed it, and saw falsehood as falsehood and avoided it, and not to make it ambiguous for us so that we go astray. Indeed, He is Generous and Bountiful. And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. And may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and all his Companions. I repeat my thanks to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) for this meeting, and then thanks to our brother, Shaykh Abu Bakr, may Allah reward him with good. Before me now are questions, and we hope to take some of them before the prayer is established. Yes, you, yes.

The questioner : In the name of Allah, and praise be to Allah, and may prayers and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah.
