The story of Musa's (peace be upon him) question about seeing Allah, and the affirmation of seeing Allah on the Day of Resurrection
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Musa (peace and blessings be upon him) asked his Lord to let him see Him. [Al-A'raf 7:143] It is not possible. [Al-A'raf 7:143]. The mountain crumbled, the deaf, dumb mountain. How did the children of Adam fare? If this mountain could not stand firm for the vision of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), how could the children of Adam? For this reason, He said: When Musa saw this matter, it terrified him. He fainted from the terror of what he saw. [Al-A'raf 7:143]. This does not contradict what is established by the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the Salaf that Allah the Exalted is seen on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, He is seen, without doubt. The Book of Allah, the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), and the consensus of the Companions indicate that Allah is seen on the Day of Resurrection with a true vision by the eye. But if He is seen by the eye, can a person comprehend Him when he sees Him? Answer, my brother. No, he cannot comprehend Him. We see the sun now; can we comprehend it with our eyes? No, rather, you cannot even comprehend all the features of a person yourself, ever. We see the Lord (Mighty and Majestic), and we ask Him (Glorified and Exalted is He) not to deprive us and you of this vision on the Day of Resurrection, but we do not comprehend Him. For this reason, Allah gives people on the Day of Resurrection a strength beyond what a human can imagine. The lowest of the people of Paradise in rank sees his kingdom as a journey of two thousand years, two thousand years. He sees its farthest point as he sees its nearest point. Are we able to comprehend this in this world? No. So the Hereafter has conditions that are other conditions. Thus, people on the Day of Resurrection see Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But they do not comprehend Him, because Allah said: [Al-An'am 6:103]. If the Qur'an were to descend upon a mountain, the mountain would crumble, seeing it humbled and split asunder from fear of Allah. Are our hearts now, while we read the Qur'an, humbled until they split? Answer, my brothers. No. Many people now read the Qur'an with their tongues, but they do not read it with their hearts. For this reason, the impact of the readers of the Qur'an by the Qur'an is little, because many of them read only with their tongues. We ask Allah to help us and you to be present with the meanings of the Noble Qur'an and to be humble when reading it. Yes.
