The Shaykh : That is, there is a distinction. If it is in opposition to the plotting of the enemy, it is an attribute of praise. If it is initiated, it is an attribute of blame. The same applies to plotting, stratagem, mockery, and ridicule. If they are in their proper place, they are attributes of praise. They mock them, what? Allah mocks them.

⁽¹⁴⁾ And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers." ⁽¹⁵⁾ [But] Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly.

قالوا إنما نحن مستهزئون الله يستهزئ بهم
