The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "Say: I cannot avert harm from you nor bring guidance."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : So worship Allah alone, rely on Allah alone, and do not call upon anyone other than Allah, whether a close angel or a sent prophet, ever, no matter who it is. If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said this by the command of Allah, where Allah said to him:
Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."
[Al-Jinn 72:21]
Read the verse, my brother.
Say, "Indeed, I do not possess قل إني لا أملك
[Al-Jinn 72:21]
.
The student:
Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."
[Al-Jinn 72:21]
.

The Shaykh : Yes, complete it.
Say: I قل إني
Complete it. Who will complete it?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Rest.
Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."
[Al-Jinn 72:21]
It means it does not benefit you
Say, "Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone قل إني لن يجيرني من الله أحد
[Al-Jinn 72:22]
even if Allah intended evil for him, no one would protect him
Say, "Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone [if I should disobey], nor will I find in other than Him a refuge. قل إني لن يجيرني من الله أحد ولن أجد من دونه ملتحدا
[Al-Jinn 72:22]
It means I will not find anyone other than Allah who prevents what Allah intended for me. And who is this? Who is he, O people of Islam? The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), whom Allah commanded to announce
Say, "Indeed, I do not possess for you [the power of] harm or right direction."
[Al-Jinn 72:21]
Say, "Indeed, there will never protect me from Allah anyone [if I should disobey], nor will I find in other than Him a refuge. إني لن يجيرني من الله أحد. ولن أجد من دونه ملتحدا
[Al-Jinn 72:22]
Now, when Allah the Exalted revealed to His Prophet
And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred.
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:214]
, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called his relatives and addressed them until he said:
O Safiya (aunt of the Messenger of Allah), I cannot avail you at all against Allah
Sahih Muslim 206a
Safiyyah, what is her connection to the Messenger? Safiyyah bint 'Abd al-Muttalib, his aunt, he said:
I cannot avail you anything before Allah. O Fatimah bint Muhammad! Ask me for whatever you want
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3646Sahih (Darussalam)
It means ask for whatever you wish from my wealth
I cannot avail you at all against Allah
Sahih Muslim 206a
This is the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), so how about others, O brothers? Do not invalidate your deeds by calling upon anyone other than Allah. Good.
