The Intelligence and Acumen of Some Bedouins

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Here is a story where a man was reciting
Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you until you visit the graves.
. A Bedouin heard him and said: "By Allah, there is life behind these graves", because the visitor is not a resident. See how the Bedouin understood. Sometimes the Bedouins come with an understanding that is hidden from many people. A visitor stays with his host for a period and then returns to his country. Is that not so? Here, Allah the Exalted named burial a visit. He said:
until you visit the graves.
. So are the graves a place of visitation? A place of visitation. There must be a resurrection. And sometimes the Bedouins come with things that indicate the soundness of the Arab man's understanding. There is also a second story where a Bedouin heard a man reciting the words of Allah the Exalted:
[As for] the thief, the male and the female, amputate their hands in recompense for what they committed as a deterrent [punishment] from Allah. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:38]
and Allah is the Forgiving, the Merciful. The Bedouin said: Recite the verse again. He repeated it, reading without a mushaf. He repeated it. Then he said:
[As for] the thief, the male and the female, amputate their hands in recompense for what they committed as a deterrent [punishment] from Allah. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:38]
. He said: Recite it again. The Bedouin did not accept, by his fitrah, that Allah the Mighty and Majestic would say "cut off their hands" and then say "and Allah is the Forgiving, the Merciful," because forgiveness and mercy necessitate the lifting of the punishment from them. So the man read it the third time and said:
[As for] the thief, the male and the female, amputate their hands in recompense for what they committed as a deterrent [punishment] from Allah. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:38]
. He said: Now you have hit the mark. "Mighty and Wise" means He cut them off, and if He had forgiven and shown mercy, He would not have cut them off. Glory be to Allah! We benefit from this that the conclusion of verses is appropriate to what is mentioned before them.
