Are there cases in which the woman's and the man's shares in inheritance are equal?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : The honorable Shaykh is asked: Are there cases in which the woman's and the man's shares in inheritance are equal?

The Shaykh : Yes, the siblings from the mother have equal inheritance; a brother from the mother and a sister from the mother have equal shares, by the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
And if a man or woman leaves neither ascendants nor descendants but has a brother or a sister, then for each one of them is a sixth. But if they are more than two, they share a third وإن كان رجل يورث كلالة أو امرأة وله أخ أو أخت فلكل واحد منهم السدس فإن كانوا أكثر من ذلك فهم شركاء في الثلث
[An-Nisa 4:12]
. And none of them is preferred over the other. Likewise, according to some scholars, inheritance by kinship, meaning the relatives by blood (dhawi al-araham), according to some scholars who said that they inherit, they say that they are equal. So the son of a sister and the daughter of a sister, both are equal, because they are from the relatives by blood. And these are matters that have details. But the known and recognized thing is: who are they? The siblings from the mother, their males and females are equal. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
