The Shaykh : And with this, we know the error of those who transmitted from the historians that Idris came before Noah. Idris is one of the prophets, and it is not possible for him to have been before Noah, because Noah was the first of the messengers sent to their peoples. All the prophets mentioned in the Qur'an are messengers, as Allah the Exalted said: [Ghafir 40:78] So everyone whose story Allah has related to us in the Qur'an is a messenger, even if Allah described him as a prophet; he is a prophet and a messenger. So, from our creed, who is the first messenger Allah sent to the people of the earth?
