A man knows that he is infertile; is it obligatory for him to inform the one he wants to marry?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.

The Shaykh : Peace be upon you, and Allah's mercy and blessings.

The questioner : We have a colleague at work who has not yet married, and every so often we remind him of the virtue of marriage and encourage him to do so. He says, "If Allah wills." On one occasion, I pressed him about it and said, "I do not think there is a reason for your not getting married."

The Shaykh : What is the matter?

The questioner : I said, "I do not think there is a reason for your reluctance to get married." He replied, "There is a reason I am hesitant about. I am saying that I am infertile and do not have children. When I want to propose, should I inform them of this or not?"

The Shaykh : It is obligatory for one who has a defect to disclose it to the one he is proposing to, especially this great defect, which is infertility, because the woman has the right to a child. For this reason, the scholars said: It is forbidden to practice coitus interruptus with a free woman except with her permission.
Therefore, he must inform them that he is infertile so that they enter into the marriage with full knowledge. Also, if it happens that he did not inform them and this defect becomes apparent to them afterwards, they have the right to demand the annulment of the contract, and the contract is annulled. Yes.
