Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Allah the Exalted said:
The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى
[Al-A'la 87:19]
What is meant by the scrolls, are they the Torah?

The Shaykh : Some scholars hold that they are the Torah, while others hold that they are not the Torah. Allah knows best, because Allah the Exalted called the Torah tablets. Allah the Exalted said:
And he threw down the tablets and seized his brother by [the hair of] his head, pulling him toward him. وَأَلْقَى الْأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيهِ يَجُرُّهُ إِلَيْهِ
[Al-A'raf 7:150]
And Allah knows best whether they are the Torah or something else.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
