The Meaning of the Poet's Saying: O Affliction of Islam and the Qur'an, from the ignorance of the sincere friend and the tyranny of the tyrant, and by Allah, were it not that Allah supports His religion and His Book with truth and proof

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then he said, lamenting the affliction of Islam, he said:
"O Affliction of Islam and the Qur'an, from the ignorance of the sincere friend and the tyranny of the tyrant"
Correct, people are only tested by this. A sincere friend who is ignorant harms you more than he benefits you, even if he is your friend, right? A friend who loves you as much as he loves himself says to you: "Don't go this way, go that way," and he does not know whether the second way is better or worse. Based on the friendship between you, did you obey him or not? You obeyed him and went with him on that path, and it turns out that path is a highway for robbers and a deadly, scorching desert of thirst, while the first path was safe. Was this friend's intention bad?
The student: No.

The Shaykh : But he is ignorant. The problem of the sincere friend's ignorance is a trial, a trial. The ignorance of the sincere friend is a trial. Therefore, a person must be confident in the one who advises him about something; he must be a scholar who is sincere to him. All right.
"The tyranny of the tyrant" This enemy tyrannizes and does not care, even if he is knowledgeable.
"And by Allah, were it not that Allah supports His religion and His Book with truth and proof,
"His enemies would have torn our souls apart *** and the bonds of our faith would have been severed"

Or "severed the ties of faith from us." This is correct. Were it not that Allah supports His religion, as the Exalted said:
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian. إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر وإنا له لحافظون
[Al-Hijr 15:9]
the ties of faith would have been severed. But Allah, praise be to Him, has appointed for His religion those who defend it and support it.
