What is the ruling on the Dhuha prayer and how many rak'ahs does it have?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He is asking, O honorable Shaykh, about the Dhuha prayer and the number of its rak'ahs?

The Shaykh : The Dhuha prayer is a recommended practice (sunnah) established by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) through his words and his actions. As for his actions, he would sometimes pray two rak'ahs of Dhuha. As for his words, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) informed us that upon every joint of a person is a charity, every day the sun rises. This means that upon every one of your limbs is a charity, every day the sun rises. But it is not a charity of wealth; rather, it is anything that brings one closer to Allah. Removing a harmful object from the path is a charity, saying "La ilaha illa Allah" is a charity, saying "Allahu Akbar" is a charity, saying "Alhamdulillah" is a charity, and reciting the Qur'an is a charity. Until he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
and two rak'ahs which one prays in the forenoon will suffice. ويجزئ من ذلك ركعتان يركعهما من الضحى
Sahih Muslim 720
This is an encouragement to pray the two rak'ahs of Dhuha.
So it is recommended for a person to pray the two rak'ahs of Dhuha every day. Its time, meaning the time of the Dhuha prayer, is from when the sun has risen the height of a spear until about ten minutes before the sun reaches its zenith. That is, from about a quarter of an hour after the sun rises until about ten minutes before the zenith. All of this is its time, so its time is broad.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. The last question in the listener's message, M A H, a Sudanese, says.
