When does the time for the Duha prayer end, and what is the number of its rak'ahs?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He asks when the time for the Duha prayer ends, and what is the number of its rak'ahs.

The Shaykh : The time for the Duha prayer begins when the sun has risen the height of a spear, which is approximately one-third of an hour after sunrise, and its time ends before the sun reaches its zenith, which is approximately ten minutes before the zenith. Everything between these two times is a time for the Duha prayer. It is better to pray it at the end of the time, and if one prays it at the beginning of the time, there is no blame on him, meaning that he attains the virtue.
As for the number of its rak'ahs, the minimum is two rak'ahs, and the maximum is whatever a person wishes; there is no limit, so let him pray whatever he wishes. He should be consistent in praying it, especially one who does not perform the late-night prayer, due to the statement of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him):
My friend (the Messenger of Allah) (ﷺ) directed me to observe fast for three days in every month, to perform two Rak'ah (optional) Duha prayer at forenoon and to perform the Witr prayer before going to bed. أوصاني خليلي صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم بثلاث : صيام ثلاثة أيامٍ من كل شهر ، وركعتي الضحى ، وأن أوتر قبل أن أنام
Riyad as-Salihin 1258
. He was advised to do this because he (may Allah be pleased with him) used to review his memorized hadiths in the early part of the night, so he would sleep late and not get up in the last part of the night. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) advised him to pray the witr before he sleeps.
Consistency in the Duha prayer, even for one who performs the late-night prayer, has a great benefit, and that is:
That every morning, every joint of a person is due a charity, every day the sun rises. أنه يصبح على كل سلامى من الناس صدقة كل يوم تطلع فيه الشمس
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said:
and two rak'ahs which one prays in the forenoon will suffice. ويجزئ عن ذلك ركعتان يركعهما من الضحى
Sahih Muslim 720
. This is a great benefit, that you fulfill the charity for every one of your joints, and two rak'ahs prayed from the Duha suffice for it.
