(Reconciling Buraydah’s hadith that this Ummah’s number of rows is two-thirds of the people of Paradise with the hadith indicating that they are half of the people of Paradise) This, and their rows

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As you heard, the author mentioned in this chapter that the people of Paradise have rows of twenty and a hundred, and that this Ummah is two-thirds, so eighty rows would be from this Ummah, and forty rows from others.
Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him), after authenticating this hadith, mentioned what appears to contradict it, which is that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he informed his companions, said:
Indeed, Allah the Exalted will call out on the Day of Resurrection: O Adam. He will say: Here I am, at your service. He will say: Bring out from your descendants the group of the Fire. He said: What is the group of the Fire? He said: Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of every thousand, all of them in the Fire except one out of the thousand. This was great for the Companions, and they said: O Messenger of Allah, who is that one? He said, may the prayers and peace be upon him: Rejoice, for you are in two Ummahs that were not in anything but numerous, Ya’juj and Ma’juj, from them a thousand and from you one.
Then he said:
I hope that you will be a quarter of the people of Paradise, so they glorified Allah. He said: I hope that you will be a third of them, so they glorified Allah. He said: I hope that you will be half of them, so they glorified Allah, rejoicing with that.
.
This hadith indicates that this Ummah is the half, and the first hadith indicates that they are two-thirds, so the author reconciled them in a good way, and said: The one mentioning the half is a hope from the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and that Allah gave him more than what he hoped, meaning: He increased him more than what he hoped, yes.
