A person was forced to go to one of the sorcerers to break the sorcery on his son? Is that permissible for him?

The questioner : A person was forced to go to one of the sorcerers to break the sorcery on his son. Is that permissible for him?

The Shaykh : There is no doubt that sorcery is a chronic disease and that it is a great crime committed by the sorcerer. The sorcerer who seeks the aid of demonic spirits, or of Shayatins, or of jinn is a disbeliever, may Allah protect us from that. He is a disbeliever whose disbelief takes him out of the religion, even if he fasts and prays, because Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said:
And they followed [instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Solomon. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah. And the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.
[Al-Baqarah 2:102]
So the sorcerer who seeks the aid of Shayatins, demonic spirits, and jinn is a disbeliever. He must repent to Allah, return to Him, and cease from what he is doing.
As for the one who has been subjected to sorcery, he has been afflicted with a calamity that Allah has afflicted him with through the hand of this sorcerer. He has the right to strive, to the extent of his ability, to break the sorcery from him. The best thing for breaking sorcery is the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, namely the Qur'anic verses that were revealed to remove sorcery, such as
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak قل أعوذ برب الفلق
[Al-Falaq 113:1]
Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, قل أعوذ برب الناس
[An-Nas 114:1]
Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, قل هو الله أحد
[Al-Ikhlas 112:1]
, the Verse of the Throne, and the two verses at the end of Surat al-Baqarah. If a sincere reader who believes in them recites them, and the one afflicted by sorcery accepts them and believes in their benefit, then they will be of benefit by the permission of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
And, praise be to Allah, there are many who do this, and in this is sufficiency, so there is no need to go to the sorcerers. We ask Allah for safety for us and for our Muslim brothers from afflictions, and that He protect us from the evil of His servants.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh.
