Explanation of the Book of Friday Prayer and the Two Festivals-07b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, Ibn Abi 'Adi narrated to us from Ibn 'Awn from Muhammad, who said: Umm 'Atiyyah said:
We were ordered to go out (for `Id) and also to take along with us the menstruating women, mature girls and virgins staying in seclusion. (Ibn `Aun said, "Or mature virgins staying in seclusion)." The menstruating women could present themselves at the religious gathering and invocation of Muslims but should keep away from their Musalla. أمرنا أن نخرج فنخرج الحيض والعواتق وذوات الخدور، قال ابن عون: أو العواتق ذوات الخدور، فأما الحيض فيشهدن جماعة المسلمين ودعوتهم ويعتزلن مصلاهم
Sahih al-Bukhari 981
.

The Shaykh : He cited this as evidence that the place of prayer for the festival is a mosque, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established for it the rulings of a mosque. As for a place of prayer that is not a mosque, such as a place of prayer in schools or workplaces, it is not a mosque, so it is permissible for a menstruating woman to remain in it.
