Continuation of the Tafsir of Surat al-Duha with a discussion of what has passed.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the Righteous, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
As for what follows: To complete our lesson at the beginning of this night, we say that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said to His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), informing with a confirmed report by an oath:
Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]. ما ودعك ربك وما قلى
[Ad-Duhaa 93:3]
So what is the meaning of His saying:
He has not abandoned you ما ودعك
?
The student: He did not abandon you.

The Shaykh : He did not abandon you, and He did not hate you?
The student: He did not abandon you.

The Shaykh : "Qala" means He abandoned you.
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : He hated you. Good, may Allah reward you. Allah denied that because it was said to him that his Lord had abandoned him, so Allah revealed this verse to refute that claim, and He confirmed this with an oath.
His saying:
And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. وللآخرة خير لك من الأولى
[Ad-Duhaa 93:4]
came in another place regarding the general public, but it came with a restriction. What is it, and where is the location of this? And what is the restriction? Yes.
The student: His saying, the Exalted:
the Hereafter is better for he who fears Allah والآخرة خير لمن اتقى
[An-Nisa 4:77]

The Shaykh :
the Hereafter is better for he who fears Allah والآخرة خير لمن اتقى
[An-Nisa 4:77]
May Allah reward you.
the Hereafter is better for he who fears Allah الآخرة خير لمن اتقى
[An-Nisa 4:77]
Because He is addressing all people. It is not the case that it is better for all people; rather, it is better for those who fear Allah.
