The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "And from the evil of an envier when he envies," and the mention of the cure for the evil eye.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
And from the evil of an envier when he envies." ومن شر حاسد إذا حسد
[Al-Falaq 113:5]

Who is the envier?
The envier is the one who casts the evil eye. The envier is the one who casts the evil eye. The one who casts the evil eye is the one who envies people for what Allah has bestowed upon them. When he sees a person whom Allah has blessed with wealth, he envies him in his health; he envies him in his children. He is a wicked soul that hates good for creation. From this wicked soul, a spiritual force emerges that strikes whoever it strikes.
I do not say that most people, praise be to Allah, but some people are envious and envy people for Allah's favor. When he sees what pleases him, his heart stirs. When the heart stirs, it means the projectile has been launched. And when it is launched, it will strike whoever it is directed at. But what is the cure for that? This has two cures, I mean the evil eye. This has two cures: a prior cure and a subsequent cure. Brother, do you have sleep in you? You have no sleep.
The evil eye has two cures. A cure?
The student: ... .

The Shaykh : You have done well. May Allah bless you. A prior cure and a subsequent cure.
The prior cure is that one says to the one who casts the evil eye: "When you see what pleases you, say, 'May Allah bless you.'" If the one who casts the evil eye says this, "May Allah bless you," then by the permission of Allah, he will not strike anyone with his eye. For this reason, some of the good people among those who cast the evil eye, whenever they walked in the market and saw what pleased them, you would find them saying, "Blessed is Allah, Blessed is Allah, Blessed is Allah, May Allah bless you," so that he would not strike anyone with his eye. And this is a prior cure. And a subsequent one? Prior, and it comes from the one who casts the evil eye himself.
The subsequent cure: When the one who casts the evil eye is known, he is asked to perform wudu. Wudu is known. How is wudu performed? The wudu for prayer: he washes his face and his hands to the elbows, wipes his head, and washes his feet. And whatever water splashes out is placed in a vessel and given to the afflicted person to drink from, and he pours it on his head and his back. Then he is healed by the permission of Allah. He is healed immediately. And the stories of those struck by the evil eye are very numerous. We hear them in the past and in the present, and they are a real occurrence. But if you seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak from the evil of what He created, and from the evil of darkness when it closes in, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies—if you seek refuge in Him with a heart that is certain and believing that He will ward this off from you, then Allah the Exalted will ward it off. But our affliction, O our brothers, our affliction is that many people recite the two chapters of seeking refuge, but by way of experiment. They say, "Let me see if it works or not." They do not have certainty, and they do not have faith. So the two chapters of seeking refuge do not benefit them, nor does anything else.
