The Revelation of the Qur'an in Ramadan.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Allah singled out this month for this Muslim community with a great matter, which is the revelation of the Noble Qur'an. O Allah, make us among those who recite it with true recitation, and save us from the Fire by it, and settle us in the abode of peace, O Lord of the worlds. Allah revealed the Qur'an in the month of Ramadan. Allah the Exalted said:
The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion
[Al-Baqarah 2:185]
Who revealed it? Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said:
Indeed, We sent the Qur'an down during the Night of Decree.
[Al-Qadr 97:1]
So the Revealer is Allah, and He revealed it to whom? To the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Allah the Exalted said:
(192) And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. (193) The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down (194) Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners - (195) In a clear Arabic language.
[Ash-Shu'ara 26:192-195]
. It was revealed to the heart of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
One of you might say, especially a student of knowledge, especially the intelligent one, especially the argumentative one, one might say: How do you say that the Qur'an was revealed to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in Ramadan, when it was revealed to him in Ramadan and in months other than Ramadan?
Listen to His saying, the Exalted:
This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you
[Al-Ma'idah 5:3]
When was it revealed? It was revealed on the Day of 'Arafah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was standing at 'Arafah. So how do you say it was revealed to the heart of the Messenger in Ramadan?
The answer is: If we say that the revelation began in Ramadan, it started to be revealed, then it continued to be revealed little by little over the course of twenty-three years, over the course of twenty-three years. Because when was the first thing revealed to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)? When he was forty years old. Hassan ibn Thabit said, as I think, or someone else:
And forty years had passed over him, then the light of the Message shone forth from him in Ramadan.
. The revelation began in Ramadan. Before Ramadan, from Rabi' al-Awwal to Ramadan, the first thing that started to come to him was from Rabi' al-Awwal; he would be given a vision, he would see in a dream, and it would come like the break of dawn, as Aisha, the Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), said:
The commencement of the Divine Inspiration to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was in the form of good dreams which came true like bright daylight
Sahih al-Bukhari 3
. From Rabi' al-Awwal to Ramadan, how many months is that? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, is that right? From Rabi' to Ramadan, how many? Six months. Six months. The true vision, when he saw the vision, it came like the dawn. Then the revelation came to him in Ramadan, peace and blessings be upon him. The story of the beginning of the revelation is what Imam al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) began his Sahih with, by mentioning the long hadith of Aisha. I hope you pay attention. One of the characteristics of the month of Ramadan is that Allah revealed the Qur'an in it. And here are topics regarding the Qur'an:
