Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And among the benefits of this verse is the intense fear of the hypocrites, the intense fear of the hypocrites, due to His saying:
They hypocrites are apprehensive lest a surah be revealed about them, informing them of what is in their hearts.
[At-Tawbah 9:64]
. And Allah has certainly struck an example for them in al-Baqarah, so He the Exalted said:
(19) Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death. But Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers. (20) The lightning almost snatches away their sight
[Al-Baqarah 2:19-20]
. They cannot bear it and they fear. The most fearful of people regarding disgrace is the hypocrite. Therefore, he practices hypocrisy; you find that he appears to be a Muslim while he is a disbeliever. He appears to be truthful while he is a liar. He appears to be trustworthy while he is a traitor. He appears to be faithful to the covenant while he is a breaker of trust.
