Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And from Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).

The Shaykh : And from.
The reciter: And from Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).

The Shaykh : Yes. It is authentic.
The reciter: He said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by two graves and said, "They are being punished, and they are not being punished for something great. As for one of them, he did not protect himself from urine. And as for the other, he used to walk around spreading talebearing. So he took a fresh palm branch, split it in two, and planted one in each grave. They said: O Messenger of Allah, why did you do this? He said: Perhaps it will lighten their punishment as long as they do not dry out. مر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بقبرين فقال إنهما ليعذبان وما يعذبان في كبير. أما أحدهما فكان لا يستتر من البول. وأما الآخر فكان يمشي بالنميمة. فأخذ جريدة رطبة فشقها نصفين فغرز في كل قبر واحدة فقالوا : يا رسول الله لم فعلت هذا قال لعله يخفف عنهما ما لم ييبسا
.

The Shaykh : Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by two graves and said:
"Indeed they are being punished."
The sentence is emphasized by two emphatic markers, which are *in* and the *lam*, because this is a matter of the unseen that needs to be emphasized so that a person believes in it with certainty.
"Indeed they are being punished."
Then he said:
but they are not being punished for anything major
Sunan Ibn Majah 349Sahih (Darussalam)
The meaning is not "for something great in terms of the Shari'ah," because this is one of the major sins. But "for something great upon them" means that it is easy for them to leave it. As for one of them, he used to walk around spreading talebearing. He used to walk around spreading talebearing, meaning he would carry news from one person to another to create discord between them. The form of this is that he comes to a person and says, "So-and-so said such and such about you." What is he trying to do? He is trying to create discord between them. This is talebearing. It is one of the major sins, to the extent that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The beater of false tales would never enter heaven.
Sahih Muslim 105b
meaning a talebearer. This is because of the corruption it causes among people and the enmity it instills between them.
One of them never saved himself from being soiled with his urine
Sahih al-Bukhari 218
. In another narration:
He did not purify himself from urine.
. This means that he does not care if urine hits his garment or his body. He does not care. Similarly, if he urinates, he does not perform istinja' (cleaning). He is punished in his grave for not purifying himself from urine. If the punishment of the grave is established for not purifying oneself from urine, and purifying oneself from urine is a condition for prayer, then what about the one who does not pray? May Allah protect us from that. For this reason, we say that there are benefits in this hadith:
First: That it is one of the signs of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), because the punishment of the two was revealed to him. Not everyone is revealed the punishment of the grave. For this reason, we pass by graves and do not know if they are being punished or granted mercy. Second:
