Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “Indeed, you cannot guide whom you love, but Allah guides whom He wills, and He is most knowing of those who are guided”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Allah the Exalted said to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):
Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills
[Al-Qasas 28:56]
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) loved to guide everyone he was able to guide. Therefore, he called all people, calling them, calling them to be guided, or to be misguided? To be guided. Is it possible for him to guide whom he loves? No, it is not possible. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:
And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muhammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers?
[Yunus 10:99]
And the most specific example of this is his uncle Abu Talib. His uncle Abu Talib defended him, protected him, and supported him, until he used to say in his famous Lamiyyah poem: “O man, guard, guard your beard.” He said in his famous poem, about which Ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “It should be among the Mu'allaqat”. In it, he addresses or speaks about Quraysh:
“They have certainly known” meaning Quraysh, “that our son is not a liar with us”. Who is his son? Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), because Allah placed in the heart of Abu Talib a love for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
“They have certainly known that our son is not a liar with us *** Nor does he concern himself with the words of falsehood”
Meaning the words of the sorcerers. And this is a confirmation from him. And he also says:
"And indeed, I know that the religion of Muhammad *** is the best of the religions of the earth in religion
“Were it not for the blame or fear of insult *** You would have seen me lenient and clear regarding that”

This is a testimony that the religion of Muhammad is the truth, but he did not accept it nor submit to it, and this is what prevented him from attaining success. This man, Abu Talib, had a hand in defending the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) and supporting him, but the matter is as Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:
(96) Indeed, those upon whom the word of your Lord has come into effect will not believe, (97) Even if every sign should come to them
[Yunus 10:96-97]
This man
When death approached him, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was with him, and there were two polytheists from Quraysh with him. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say to him: O my uncle
a word of gentleness
O my uncle, say: There is no god but Allah, a word by which I will argue for you with Allah. Then these two polytheists used to say to him: Do you desire to turn away from the religion of 'Abd al-Muttalib?
What is the religion of 'Abd al-Muttalib? Shirk (associating partners with Allah) Do you desire to turn away from the religion of 'Abd al-Muttalib? The last thing he said, the last thing he said, was that he was upon the religion of 'Abd al-Muttalib. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was grieved by that and said: I will seek forgiveness for you as long as I am not forbidden from doing so. So Allah the Exalted revealed: “It was not for the Prophet and those who believe to seek forgiveness for the polytheists, even if they were close relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are companions of the Fire.” Then the Lord the Mighty and Majestic answered.
