The Shaykh : How are you doing?
The student: ... Praise be to Allah.
The Shaykh : ... and nothing else ... .
The student: ... .
The Shaykh : Yes. There is no harm in asking questions after the lesson.
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and the Imam of the Pious, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. As for what follows, it is a pleasure for me on this night, Saturday, corresponding to the 18th of the month of Rajab, 1411 of the Hijrah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), to meet my brothers here in the Prophet’s Mosque in the Blessed City, and I ask Allah the Exalted to make it a blessed and beneficial meeting.
And it saddens me that the meeting takes place at a time when events have escalated in our region, the region of Revelation in the Arabian Peninsula, where the Muslim community should be, and elsewhere, one community with no difference, no conflict, and no hostility among them, for Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says:[Al-Anbya 21:92]. And in another verse: [Al-Mu'minun 23:52].
And Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says, addressing His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him):[Al-An'am 6:159]. And He (Mighty and Majestic) says: [Ali 'Imran 3:105]. No one believed, and we are in this blessed era of the Islamic awakening, that no one believed that conflicts among us would reach the level of armed conflict, where one person jumps at another to kill him and spill his blood. By Allah, it is a great trial, a great calamity, to occur in such an era, in such a blessed period where we see the vanguard of the Islamic awakening everywhere, in this land and in all Islamic lands, Arabs and non-Arabs, and then these painful events occur, which are nothing but a source of joy for our enemies at our expense. And on this occasion, I would like to speak on this topic in points I prepared a little while ago, which are six points, six, or rather seven points.
The first point: What happened is by the divine decree and destiny of Allah.
The second point: What happened is for a profound wisdom, because the One who decreed it is Allah.
The third point: The causes of this conflict that led to what we are hearing.
The fourth point: Its consequences.
The fifth point: The obligation of knowledge before the speaker speaks, and the obligation of justice when he speaks.
The sixth point: The danger of speaking without knowledge.
The seventh point: That rushing after emotion becomes a storm.
The student: ... Praise be to Allah.
The Shaykh : ... and nothing else ... .
The student: ... .
The Shaykh : Yes. There is no harm in asking questions after the lesson.

Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

وَأِنَّ هَذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاتَّقُونAnd Allah (Mighty and Majestic) says, addressing His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him):
Indeed, those who have divided their religion and become sects - you, [O Muhammad], are not [associated] with them in anything. Their affair is only [left] to Allah; then He will inform them about what they used to do.
And do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will have a great punishment.
The first point: What happened is by the divine decree and destiny of Allah.
