The Shaykh : Then Allah the Exalted said: [Al-Ahzab 33:57-58].
[Al-Ahzab 33:57] Can anyone harm Allah and His Messenger? The answer is yes, because Allah affirmed that, saying: [Al-Ahzab 33:57]. How does one harm Allah? Listen to it from the words of Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, reporting from his Lord: Sunan Abi Dawud 5274Sahih (Al-Albani). Then Allah the Exalted said in the Qudsi Hadith: Sahih Muslim 2246b.
As for harming the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), he was harmed greatly by the polytheists and the hypocrites. He was cursed and described as a sorcerer, a poet, a soothsayer, and a madman. He was even harmed in ways that no one else is harmed, such as when the Quraysh would place filth at the threshold of his door, and when they placed the intestines of a camel on him while he was prostrating under the Ka'bah. So, without doubt, they were harming the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Regarding harming Allah, I mentioned an example of it, which is cursing time (al-dahr). A person might say, for example, "How ugly is this time," or "How ugly is this time," and he curses it and invokes a curse upon it, saying, "May Allah curse this time," and the like. And the poor man does not know that by cursing this, he has cursed whom? He has cursed Allah, because the One who manages time is Allah. Time is a period of time, created by Allah, and Allah does in it what He wills. So if you curse time, you have cursed your Lord. For this reason, Allah the Exalted said:Sahih Muslim 2246b. And the meaning of His saying: is what He mentioned in His saying: Sunan Abi Dawud 5274Sahih (Al-Albani). Otherwise, Allah is not time, because time is the duration and the moment, but Allah is the Lord of time, who acts in it as He wills and manages it as He wills. For this reason, He said: Sunan Abi Dawud 5274Sahih (Al-Albani).
If someone were to ask: How do you reconcile the affirmation of harm with the saying of Allah the Exalted:Sahih Muslim 2577a? Allah the Glorious and Exalted denied that anyone can reach His harm, and Allah the Mighty and Majestic said: , thereby denying harm to Himself. He affirmed harm (adha) but denied harm (darr). Is there a contradiction between these two?
The answer is: No, because harm (adha) does not necessarily entail damage (darr). Harm (adha) does not necessarily entail damage (darr). That is to say, harm (adha) may occur without damage (darr) occurring.
Have you seen if a person prayed next to you and had eaten garlic or onions? You would be bothered by what? By its smell. And would you be harmed? No, you would not be harmed. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding one who eats onions or garlic:Sahih Ibn Hibban 9:206. Because the one who comes to the mosque having eaten onions or garlic, and the smell has not gone away, harms the angels. He harms them because the angels are in the mosques of Allah. For this reason, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a man from entering the mosque with the smell of onions, garlic, leeks, and the like, so that the angels would not be bothered by it.
Allah the Mighty and Majestic said:[Al-Ahzab 33:57] . The scholars said: Cursing (la'nah) is expulsion and distance from the mercy of Allah. So if you say, "May Allah curse so-and-so," you have called upon Allah to expel him from His mercy. And this is among the greatest things that can befall those upon whom the curse is invoked. For this reason, it came in the hadith: . This means that cursing leads to the destruction of the cursed one and the corruption of his affair, just as killing leads to his destruction and the corruption of his affair.
So, means what? It means He expelled them and distanced them from His mercy.
[Al-Baqarah 2:217]. For this reason, whoever harms Allah the Mighty and Majestic, the general rule is that he will not find guidance, may Allah protect us from that. And whoever harms the Messenger of Allah, the general rule is that he will not find guidance. Although a person may find guidance, and Allah is capable of all things, as Allah the Exalted guided many groups of polytheists who harmed Allah and His Messenger, but the hearts are in the hand of Allah the Mighty and Majestic.
(57) Indeed, those who abuse Allah and His Messenger - Allah has cursed them in this world and the Hereafter and prepared for them a humiliating punishment. (58) And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly born upon themselves a slander and manifest sin.

O My servants, you will not attain harming Me so as to harm Me, and will not attain benefitting Me so as to benefit Me.
يا عبادي إنكم لن تبلغوا ضري فتضروني، ولن تبلغوا نفعي فتنفعونيSo they will not harm Allah in anything.
فلن يضروا الله شيئاThe answer is: No, because harm (adha) does not necessarily entail damage (darr). Harm (adha) does not necessarily entail damage (darr). That is to say, harm (adha) may occur without damage (darr) occurring.
