The benefits of the verse: “And those who believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed before you, and in the Hereafter, they are certain”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : That is sufficient. I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan. Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for themإن الذين كفروا سواء عليهم
[Al-Baqarah 2:6]
Have the benefits been mentioned before? Did we take them? Yes.
Allah the Exalted said:
And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].والذين يؤمنون بما أنزل إليك وما أنزل من قبلك وبالآخرة هم يوقنون
[Al-Baqarah 2:4]
This is a conjunction to what came before in His saying:
a guidance for those conscious of Allah - (3) Who believe in the unseenهدى للمتقين الذين يؤمنون بالغيب
[Al-Baqarah 2:2-3]
meaning
And who believe in what has beenوالذين يؤمنون بما أنزل
[Al-Baqarah 2:4]
And it has been mentioned previously that it is permissible to conjoin attributes to one another, as in His saying:
(1) Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High, (2) Who created and proportioned (3) And who destined and [then] guided (4) And who brings out the pasture سبح اسم ربك الأعلى الذي خلق فسوى والذي قدر فهدى والذي أخرج المرعى
[Al-A'la 87:1-4]
even though the original rule for attributes is that they are not conjoined.
Among the benefits of the verse is the praise of those who believe in what was revealed to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and what was revealed before him, and that this is among the characteristics of the righteous, as He said:
And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you والذين يؤمنون بما أنزل إليك وما أنزل من قبلك
[Al-Baqarah 2:4]
.
And among the benefits of the verse is also the praise of those who are certain of the Hereafter. It has been mentioned previously in the exegesis that the meaning of certainty regarding the Hereafter is not merely to believe that there is a day on which people will be resurrected, but to believe in everything that came in the Book and the Sunnah that occurs on that day. Indeed, the Shaykh al-Islam (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Belief in the Last Day includes believing in everything the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us about that happens after death.
