Students from a medical college who examine patients for training purposes: what is permissible for them in this field?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This is a question from some students of the medical college. They say: We started the practical application in the hospital this year, and we examine patients to practice diagnosing diseases. What is permissible for us to do in this field, and what is not permissible? May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : Whatever is required by necessity in your field of knowledge is permissible, because the most that is involved in that is looking at the 'awrah (part of the body that must be covered), for example. Looking at the 'awrah out of necessity is not a problem.
But suppose you are entrusted with examining a sick woman and you fear for yourselves from fitnah (trial, discord or temptation), then refrain and say: By Allah, we are not able to do it.

The questioner : For the examination, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : Is the examination a necessity? Can anyone be allowed to intend to cut open people's bellies without first being tested? It is not possible; testing is necessary. Especially in the subject of medicine, which is not easy but difficult. A person comes who has only understood medicine theoretically, and then says: Come on, this patient is in front of you; he needs his belly cut open from the navel to the navel, or from the navel to the pubic region. You cut open people's bellies, and I say: By Allah, this doctor is not qualified. This is not acceptable; an operation is necessary, and practical training is necessary. Yes, after that.
