What is the ruling on one who is fasting to make up for Ramadan, then is invited to a wedding feast and breaks his fast?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : This question is from 'Abd Allah al-'Ufay, where is it? Is it not there?

The questioner : It is there.

The Shaykh : Shall we tear up the paper?

The questioner : It is there.

The Shaykh : Where is it?

The questioner : At the end.

The Shaykh : Extend your hand! I see nothing! Extend his hand? Do you bear witness?

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Fine, he says: A man was fasting to make up for Ramadan, and he passed by a man who had a wedding feast, and the man insisted that he break his fast, so he did. What is upon him?
And is he considered like one who breaks his fast in Ramadan without an excuse?
He is sinful, and it is not permissible for him to break his fast while he is making up a fast, because when a person begins an obligatory act, he must complete it. So now he must repent to Allah, seek forgiveness, and make up the day he broke.
But it is not like fasting in Ramadan. So if we suppose that this man had intercourse with his wife, he does not owe an expiation because it was not in Ramadan, but he is sinful if he breaks his fast without an excuse.
