What is the amount of rain in which the prayers are combined?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : The amount in which the prayers are combined?

The Shaykh : The amount, the scholars said, is that which wets the clothes and is accompanied by hardship. Two conditions are necessary: that it wets the clothes, meaning the clothes become damp; a few light drops do not make the clothes damp. Also, there must be hardship. If it is in the winter days, but in the summer days, if the rain wets the clothes, do you find hardship and no comfort? You find comfort; it cools you and refreshes you. It is not permissible for us to transgress the limits of Allah. Any person who combines without an excuse commits a major sin from the major sins. And the prayer is not valid if the combining is combining by advancing, the second prayer is not valid, because it was prayed before its time.

The questioner : Okay, is there not a fatwa, O Shaykh...

The Shaykh : In a fatwa... in the cold.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : No, my brother, in order, may Allah reward you with good. Everyone has to take a question, yes.
