What is the ruling on one who says, "I will take you by the taking of the Mighty and Capable"? And what is the difference between this and saying, "I will take you with the taking of the Mighty and Capable," linguistically and legally?

The questioner : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon the noblest of the prophets and messengers, our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions.
This questioner says: I was sitting in a gathering, and then a man stood up and said to his companion, "I will take you by the taking of the Mighty and Capable." What is the ruling on uttering this phrase legally? And is there a difference when I say, "I will take you by the taking of the Mighty and Capable" or "with the taking of the Mighty and Capable"? I ask for clarification.

The Shaykh : This is not permissible.

The questioner : Both linguistically and legally.

The Shaykh : May Allah reward you. This is not permissible, because "the taking of the Mighty and Capable"—this description does not apply to anyone but Allah (Mighty and Majestic). He is the Mighty and the Capable, whereas the human being is humble and incapable. How can he describe himself with this? Moreover, this statement does not come from anyone but a person whose heart is filled with arrogance, may Allah protect us from that, and tyranny. It is obligatory for the one who said this to repent to Allah and not to return to such things, and to know that there is no hand above which there is not the hand of Allah. Yes.

The questioner : Linguistically.

The Shaykh : Neither linguistically nor otherwise is it permissible.

The questioner : And what type of "ba" (preposition) is in "taking"?

The Shaykh : There is no discussion, my brother. People are finding it now. Yes, here.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Please proceed.

The questioner : Shaykh, may Allah reward you.

The Shaykh : You have two questions for this brother. Yes.
