What is your opinion of a preacher who delivers the Friday sermon based on occasions and events?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : As for some preachers, when they preach, they make the sermons correspond to occasions. For example, when the season of Isra and Mi'raj arrives, they preach about it, explain some of its benefits, and touch upon explaining some of the innovations and errors that occur on this day...?

The Shaykh : This is good, meaning: for a person to make the sermon correspond to what has happened, this is good. And this is the norm for the sermons of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). For this reason, when an event occurred that required a sermon, he would stand and preach, even on days other than Friday.
For a person to take circumstances into account and preach on occasions, this is good. For example, in Ramadan he speaks about fasting, in Hajj about Hajj, and in Rabi' al-Awwal about the Hijrah. Meaning: he looks at the occasions. There is nothing wrong with this, and it is evidence that the preacher is a jurist and wise. But here is an issue: some imams do this. When they preach a sermon, they read in the prayer the verses that correspond to it. This is what is called an innovation, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was consistent in reciting "Sabbih" and "Al-Ghashiyah," or "Al-Jumu'ah" and "Al-Munafiqun," and he did not take the topic of the sermon into account.
