The Book of Mosques and Places of Prayer-10b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu 'Amir al-As'ari and Abu Kuraib narrated to us, saying: Abu Usamah narrated to us from Burayd from Abu Burdah from Abu Musa, who said:
I and my companions who arrived with me in the ship were staying in al-Baqi' of Buthayhan, while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in al-Madinah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would take turns with a group of them every night for the 'Isha' prayer. Abu Musa said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) found me and my companions, and he had some business to attend to, so he delayed the prayer until the night had grown deep. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and prayed with them. When he had finished his prayer, he said to those present: "Be patient, I will inform you and make you glad. Among the blessings of Allah upon you is that no one among the people prays at this hour except you," or he said, "No one has prayed at this hour except you" -we do not know which of the two phrases he said-. Abu Musa said: We returned rejoicing at what we had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
.

The Shaykh : This is like the first one in that the 'Isha' prayer is delayed until the night has grown deep, meaning until it has reached its midpoint. The intended meaning is near the midpoint, because the "midpoint" of a thing is its center, just as the night having "grown deep" means it has reached its midpoint or was close to it.
