The reciter:
And I do not know that the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the entire Qur'an in one night, or prayed at night until dawn, or fasted a complete month other than Ramadan. He said: So I went to Ibn Abbas and told him her story. He said: You have spoken the truth. If I had been closer to her, or if I had been able to enter upon her, I would have gone to her until she told it to me directly. He said: I said: If I had known that you would not enter upon her, I would not have told you her story.
ولا أعلم نبي الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم قرأ القرءان كله في ليلة ولا صلى ليلة إلى الصبح ولا صام شهرا كاملا غير رمضان قال: فانطلقت إلى ابن عباس فحدثته بحديثها فقال: صدقت، لو كنت أقربها أو أدخل عليها لأتيتها حتى تشافهني به قال: قلت: لو علمت أنك لا تدخل عليها ما حدّثتك حديثها
