Is the invocation of one person sufficient for the group?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : If a group of people gather at a dining area and one person comes to eat with them from the same tray, is it sufficient for him to invoke the name, or does their invocation suffice?

The Shaykh : He is asking whether the invocation of one person from the group is sufficient or not.
The students: ...

The Shaykh : As Allah wills, well, we say: if they all ate together and one person invoked the name and everyone heard him, it appears that this is sufficient. However, the statement "mention the name of Allah" indicates that each person should mention the name of Allah, and that is better. As for if a person comes after they have already invoked the name and eaten, he must invoke the name, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was eating one day when a girl came, as if she was being called, until she placed her hand to eat. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) held her hand and ordered her to invoke the name, and informed them that the hand of Satan was with the hand of this girl. Accordingly, this is the detail: if a person comes after they have invoked the name, he must invoke the name if he is participating with them and they heard the voice of the one who invoked, it appears that this is sufficient, though it is better for everyone to invoke the name. But if they did not hear his voice, they must invoke the name, because they did not invoke the name in reality or in ruling. Yes.
