Explanation of the Book of Foods-10a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: It was narrated to us by Sadaqah, who informed us from Ibn Ulayyah, from Ayyub, from Ibn Sirin, from Anas ibn Malik, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said on the Day of Sacrifice:
"Whoever has slaughtered his sacrifice before the prayer, should repeat it (slaughter another sacrifice)." A man got up and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! This is a day on which meat is desired." He then mentioned his neighbors saying, "I have a six month old ram which is to me better than the meat of two sheep." The Prophet (ﷺ) allowed him to slaughter it as a sacrifice, but I do not know whether this permission was valid for other than that man or not. The Prophet (ﷺ) then went towards two rams and slaughtered them, and then the people went towards some sheep and distributed them among themselves.
Sahih al-Bukhari 5549
.

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The author (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Chapter on what is desired of meat." His saying "Chapter on what is desired of meat" does not mean that the "min" here is for partiality, but rather it is for specifying the genus, meaning: the chapter on meat that is desired on the Day of Sacrifice. For this reason, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The days of Tashriq (the three days following 'Idul Ad-ha, i.e. 11th , 12th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah) are days of eating, drinking and remembering (dhikr) of Allah, the Most Great and Glorious. أيام التشريق أيام أكل وشرب وذكر لله عز وجل
Bulugh al-Maram 5:38
Then he mentioned this hadith, which is the hadith of Abu Burdah ibn Niyar mentioned previously, in which he commanded that whoever slaughtered before the prayer should slaughter again. It was previously stated that he said:
Let him slaughter another in its place. فليعد مكانها أخرى
And we mentioned a comment on that: if a person slaughters before the time of slaughter, he must guarantee what he slaughtered with its equivalent, not with what is sufficient for the 'Id sacrifice. If it was good, he slaughters a good one; if it was medium, he is obligated to provide a medium one; if it was the lowest grade, he is only obligated to provide the lowest grade. But if he slaughters a higher grade in place of a lower one, there is no harm. It also contains evidence of the generosity of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), where he sacrificed with two rams. He sacrificed with two horned rams (peace and blessings be upon him), one for the family of Muhammad and the second for the community of Muhammad, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him.
