Benefits of the Hadith: (… from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a silk garment being sold and said

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now, this silk garment, the scholars said, is one that has strips of silk in it. This means that it is more, if most of it is silk, or if it has more than four fingers' width. This is not permissible and is forbidden for a man.
And in this hadith is evidence that it was known among them that a person adorns himself for the delegations when they come to him, and he adorns himself likewise for Friday prayer. As for Friday, there is no doubt that a person should wear his best clothes that he has, and he should perfume himself and take a bath; in fact, the bath is obligatory.
And as for the delegations, a person adorning himself for the delegations has two benefits: The first benefit is that he appears in a befitting manner.
The second benefit is that it indicates his honoring of them and that he is attentive to them, to the extent that he changed his… what? His clothing. For this reason, we say that perhaps we also require the owner of the shop to prepare his shop and make it in a befitting manner, as is customary.
For this reason, if one of your friends comes to you and the gathering is scattered, with a cushion here and a cushion there, yes, and some of the mats are folded and some are spread out, do you care for him or not? Right? No, you do not care at all if one of your friends comes and sees the things scattered, it does not matter to him. But if a big person comes, right, do you not open the door for him except you? You fix the gathering before, you fix the gathering before, then you leave it, you open the door for him. So it is befitting for a person when delegations and guests come to him to be in a state that is pleasing to souls, not in his person and not in his place.
Now, is it honoring the guest to bring them coffee in a thermos and tea in a thermos?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Huh? How?

The questioner : According to the age.
Another questioner: There is a distinction.

The Shaykh : You know the thermos, I think.

The questioner : A refrigerator.

The Shaykh : A refrigerator. The guest might say that this tea, we are now at noon, this was prepared in the morning and put for us, because this refrigerator does not cool, right or not? And likewise the coffee, he might say this did not honor me. For this reason, it is befitting, especially for some guests who see for themselves a right, or who are greedy, who have greed in themselves, that you bring him something he knows is fresh. You bring the coffee in a pot and the tea in a kettle, yes, so that he knows that this is something new, even though it might be old, but you filtered it from there and put it in this, only the apparent is the apparent state. Yes.

The questioner : Shaykh, it is not established from…

The Shaykh : Yes?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : … another person until…

The Shaykh : No, no, the refrigerator until morning and it is smoked in the afternoon.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Glory be to Allah.

The questioner : … the afternoon.

The Shaykh : Meaning, approximately.

The questioner : Some types.

The Shaykh : Yes, perhaps what you have is broken, yes.

The questioner : Shaykh?

The Shaykh : Yes.
