Benefits of the Hadith: (The Hour will not come until the sun rises from the west, and when it rises, the people will all believe...)

The Shaykh : And in this hadith is also evidence that it comes suddenly. A garment between two men who have spread it out to buy and sell it, and the Hour stands before the sale is concluded; this is its suddenness. The second example: the Hour will stand while a man has returned with the milk of his she-camel, and he will not be able to drink it. A man milked his she-camel, then went with the vessel to drink, but it was not possible for him; the Hour stood before him. And the Hour will also stand while he is plastering his trough, and he will not be able to water in it. Plastering means repairing it, so he can pour water for the camels to drink, but the Hour stands before that, so he does not water in it. More severe than this is the food in front of him; he has raised his food, and the Hour stands while he is raising his hand, and at that time he dies. Everyone dies, and it is not just this man; the whole world dies at once. This explains the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, regarding the Hour: it comes suddenly. But it has preceding signs. People may consider it unlikely, but then it comes upon them suddenly. We ask Allah to make our ending and yours good.

The questioner : Their two garments?

The Shaykh : In my opinion, it is correct to say "their two garments" and "their garments." Both are permissible, and in my view, "their garments" in the singular is correct.
