It will be said: You were asked for something easier than that, which is to believe in Allah and His messengers, to establish the prayer, and to give, meaning to bring forth the laws of Islam, which are easy. Even zakah, which is a financial right, is not obligatory on every wealth, and when it becomes obligatory on wealth, it is a small portion, a small portion. And generally, it is not obligatory except on growing wealth; this is the general rule. It may be obligatory on non-growing wealth, such as gold and silver, for it is obligatory on a person's gold and silver even if it does not grow.
