Is the cracking of mountains by volcanoes part of the leveling that will occur on the Day of Resurrection?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence, you mentioned that on the Day of Resurrection the earth will crack

The Shaykh : and be leveled

The questioner : and the earth will be leveled

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : Is the cracking of mountains in volcanoes considered part of the leveling or not?

The Shaykh : No, the splitting of the earth by volcanoes is considered a punishment from Allah the Exalted. It is similar to earthquakes, and earthquakes are undoubtedly among the punishments of Allah. They are a warning and a caution for those upon whom this volcano has erupted, as well as for others, because the One who split the earth so that this volcano and the hot lava came out of it is capable of splitting it anywhere. Therefore, we must not say: "These are natural matters." Rather, we say: "These are cosmic, decreed matters, which Allah the Exalted has decreed and willed to show the servants His signs so that they may remember and return to Allah." But, unfortunately, due to our little knowledge of Allah the Exalted and our fear of Him, these things pass by us like the wind, as if they are nothing, even though the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when he saw a cloud or a storm, would go in and out and his face would change, and he would say:
I am afraid that there may be a calamity in it, for a people was afflicted with windما يؤمنني أن يكون فيه عذاب، قد عذب قوم بالريح
Sahih Muslim 899c
.
So, the result is that these volcanoes are considered a punishment from Allah the Exalted, a warning, and a cause of fear. Therefore, the believer should take a lesson from them and be afraid. Just as the trials that occur among people, such as wars and others, are also lessons, as Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "He is the [one] Able to send upon you affliction from above you or from beneath your feet قُلْ هُوَ الْقَادِرُ عَلَى أَنْ يَبْعَثَ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَاباً مِنْ فَوْقِكُمْ أَوْ مِنْ تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِكُمْ
[Al-An'am 6:65]
And regarding these two, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
I seek refuge in Your Face أعوذ بوجهك
meaning: that something may befall us from above or from below; this is something from which one cannot escape. He said:
or to confuse you [so you become] sects أَوْ يَلْبِسَكُمْ شِيَعاً
[Al-An'am 6:65]
making you divided
make you taste the violence of one another وَيُذِيقَ بَعْضَكُمْ بَأْسَ بَعْضٍ
[Al-An'am 6:65]
So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
This is easier, or he said: this is lighter هذه أيسر أو قال أهون
even though it is great, the fact that a person faces a man like himself and kills him, and thereby makes lawful his wealth, his land, and his family, this is great. For this reason, we say: It is obligatory for us to take a lesson from the cosmic signs of Allah that occur, in which we have no hand and no power, and to take a lesson from the trials that occur among people. Indeed, the One who decreed trials in a calm, quiet land before is capable of decreeing them in another land and transferring this trial to another land. So it is obligatory that we take a lesson from these signs and that they not pass by us like the wind.
