The Book of Friday Prayer, the Two Festivals, the Prayer for Rain, the Eclipse Prayer, and Funerals-01b

The reciter: And Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us, and al-Mughirah—meaning al-Hizam—narrated to us from Abu al-Zinad from al-A'raj from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
In this hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: . The scholars said: The reconciliation between this and the hadith that the best day on which the sun has risen is the Day of 'Arafah is that this is considered in terms of the week; the meaning is that the best day in the week is Friday.
This is an explanation of the events that occurred on this day, and it is like his saying (peace and blessings be upon him) when he was asked about the day of Monday:
And in it is also: But which Friday is this? Allah knows best, for Allah the Exalted says: , but it will not come except on this day of the week. It is incumbent upon the one who narrates this hadith to the common people to clarify that it is an unspecified Friday, so that the common person does not assume, upon hearing it, that the intended Friday is the one following his own week, and then go and say: The Hour will come on Friday. This happened to us when we were young, when we heard the preacher say: The Hour will come on Friday. So the people went out saying: On Friday the Hour will come! So on that day, people were in distress and sorrow, waiting for the Hour to come on the following Friday. And if the common person reads this, he does not understand, so it is necessary to clarify to the common people when this hadith is read to them that it is not a known Friday, due to the verse we cited.
