Aisha’s statement: “So I set out on my Hajj until we descended to Mina, and then I purified myself,” even though she had become pure at 'Arafah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Aisha’s statement (may Allah be pleased with her), “until we descended to Mina, and then I purified myself,” even though it is known that she became pure on the Day of 'Arafah?

The Shaykh : This may indicate, and Allah knows best, that she did not have water at 'Arafah and that she delayed the ritual bath until Mina. The issue requires clarification, because there is no doubt that she became pure on the Day of 'Arafah. Either she did not have water on the Day of 'Arafah, so she performed dry ablution and prayed, and then purified herself here; or it is said that “purified herself” means “became pure,” as we indicated earlier. So the issue requires clarification.
