What is the ruling on giving a sermon at a wedding feast?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : What? A sermon about what?

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : I mean, a sermon at a wedding feast. If a person is asked to speak, let him speak, because he was asked to do so, and I fear that his refusal to speak would be a form of concealing knowledge. Likewise, if he sees something wrong and stands up to speak and warn against that wrong, then the need has arisen for him to speak. But if that is not the case, he should not make this a habit, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not do this at wedding feasts. As you know, people at a wedding feast are in a state of joy and happiness, and they may not be in a mood to listen to a speech. Also, some of them may not have seen their relatives except on this night, so they would like to talk to them and ask about them. However, if he is asked to speak, he is excused, or if he sees something wrong, he is likewise excused. Otherwise, it is better to let people remain as they are. Yes... yes.
